“Tabu TRIO” - safe pre-sowing prevention of diseases and pests of potatoes
Many experienced vegetable growers will say with confidence: to get a rich potato crop, you need not just good planting material, but well-prepared planting material. Lack of proper presowing treatment can negate all subsequent efforts to grow crops. Timely feeding, watering, combating diseases and weeds, weeding and hilling will be powerless if the planting material was not prepared properly and was infected.
Black scab, or rhizoctonia, is a dangerous disease that affects potato tubers. The causative agent of the disease can live in the ground and on the tubers for several years, without showing anything. But under the prevailing favorable conditions - increased humidity and cooling - the disease will make itself felt. Young sprouts of potatoes, barely appearing, will begin to fade for no apparent reason. But even if the plant has not died, in the future it will lag behind in growth, lacking nutrients. And to collect a good crop from such bushes will not work.
Another danger that often lies in the potato tubers is all kinds of rot and, in particular, fusarium. This disease is also transmitted through the soil and often slows down the growth of bushes, or even causes them to dry out. Yields with Fusarium infection are significantly reduced. But tubers can look quite healthy for the time being. After two to three months of storage, the affected tubers dry out, infecting healthy potatoes nearby. If you do not notice and prevent the spread of the disease in time, you can lose the entire harvested potato crop.
Perhaps the worst enemy of planting potatoes is the Colorado potato beetle. This "beautiful" striped insect in a short period of time is able to completely gobble up leaves, leaving only shoots and depriving tubers of proper nutrition, and hence growth. To defeat this pest is difficult, and often impossible, since it has already adapted to many insecticides. And it’s not always possible to carefully process the plantings, especially if the size of the plantation is significant.
The wireworm is another scourge of planting potatoes. It is possible to detect it only during the harvest, when you can clearly see the numerous passages and holes on the tubers. The larvae of the nutcracker beetle, namely we call them wireworms, are studied rather poorly, as the beetle itself, therefore, and the result is not guaranteed.
Prevention of sowing potatoes from diseases and pests
To prevent diseases and pests of potato tubers before planting, experienced gardeners treat tubers in three, and sometimes in four steps. First stimulate the germination of the eyes, using growth stimulants. Then they are treated for various diseases. Next - a nutrient solution shed the soil and sprayed tubers and, in conclusion, treated with insecticides from pests. The process is lengthy and, as a rule, not all stages are performed at the same time, you have to sacrifice something.
But modern science does not stand still and today there is a way how to prepare potato tubers for planting, spending a minimum amount of time and effort on this.
Tabu TRIO - triple protection of potatoes
All the problems described above can be solved by prophylactic treatment of planting material with just one disinfectant. The August company offers a modern solution to the Tabu TRIO drug, which acts in three directions at once:
- suppresses pathogens of soil diseases for up to 12 weeks;
- protects from Colorado potato beetle up to 45 days
- from wireworms for the entire season;
- increases immunity and helps to increase yield by increasing the formation and growth of tubers;
- increases stress resistance to environmental changes.
Using Tabu TRIO is attractive from an economic point of view - buying one drug instead of three, you save money.
How to use Tabu TRIO?
The Tabu TRIO package contains 3 ampoules, which you need to dilute in 500 ml of water in turn. After thorough mixing, the solution is poured into a spray bottle and tubers are sprayed. You no longer have to process your potatoes three times with different preparations - “Tabu Trio” will do everything in one go!
"Taboo TRIO" is a combination of 3 active ingredients: 500 g / l imidacloprid, 75 g / l fludioxonil, 500 mg / l colloidal silver. One package is designed to handle 50 kg of potato tubers.
When using Tabu TRIO, pre-sowing preparation of potatoes will consist of only two actions - selection of seed material, since it is very important to select the best-quality and healthy tubers for planting and processing them with a solution of the drug.
Have a good harvest!
